Hello peeps , hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer vacations! (If they are off)
DA is rapidly changing, still not too used to the changes here and there with its layout, but I reckon I will be (Eventually!)… Been a bit more active recently (Finally), as I haven’t been on here for quite a while before that…

Still trying to improve and get some sharpness back in my shots, which is somewhat hard, but I’m trying to push myself instead of just saying to myself that it’s the aging camera or the crappy Dubai summer sky/weather (When it comes to outdoor cityscape photography for instance)

After the most recent reported coup of getting a fish eye, I saved up and got myself an external flash (Canon 580) and my first Canon lens since I got the lovely Canon f/1.8 50mm. The new lens is a 55-250 is, still experimenting with it, but so far it’s been quite good! I was rather gutted to find out that I still need to get a transmitter to make the flash work as a ‘slave’, as I thought that my cam’s own internal flash will trigger and fire the external one, but alas… Slowly learning how to use the flash, trying to take advantage of white walls and ceilings and God knows what else! One thing for sure though, it is rather hard to make the shots look natural using the external flash, but I hope I will learn how to do it sooner rather than later somehow

Will be going to Jordan inshaAllah for the annual lovely visit, was hoping that I’d get to go to Lebo a few days before that to hang out with the ‘THers’ and possibly see Jono, Toni & Paavo for the 4th time, but alas, doesn’t seem like it will happen this year (But hey, I will be taking pictures up Armin Van Buuren’s nostrils in Wadi Rum, so it’s not THAT bad

Going back to something I mentioned earlier here (Sharpness), I wanna ask you fellow deviants about it, I don’t know if I’ve grown to become pickier, but I see that most of the shots I take tend to not be so sharp when I zoom into them or when I preview them on high resolution on the laptop/pc screen… Now to be fair I haven’t gone at older shots I used to take using the same camera and lenses to compare, but I tend to convince myself that it might be the fact that the camera (2 year old 400D) is old… Does that have any influence whatsoever on the sharpness and how good the focus is in pictures? Or it has more to do with aperture? Thanks in advance to any lovely deviants who are willing to help out a fellow devious artist!
